Saturday May 9, 2009

As a family we’re blown away with Mom’s emotional, spiritual and physical strength. She continues to improve each day and fight all of the obstacles with every ounce of her being.

Though the doctors are still aggressively fighting the infection and looking for improvement in her lungs, her oxygen levels are steadily heading to more normalized levels and she is communicating through a lot of frustrating chart pointing and mouth reading.

We can’t thank you enough for your continued support and prayers.
With complete love, gratitude and appreciation,

Melissa & The Fam.

  4. Hi Lisa,
I am not surprised to hear that you are coming back in strength and spirit. It is just what I have been praying for. I know you wish you were home this Mother's Day, but I know your amazing family will be right there with you tomorrow. The two of us have supported each other through so many "mom things" and there is no one else I could have shared the things I told you. Thanks for always being the best listener when I needed someone. My love, thoughts, and prayers will be with you, especially tomorrow.
    Love,
    Sandy Saldano

  6. Hi Lisa, I have been following your journey, but unable to send a comment since Sara showed me how. Jean is over now and showed me again. So I'm glad to be able to write and give you my best wished and prayers. I look forward to checking on you daily. Keep up the good fight. Jean and I just went out to dinner and are about to sit down and crochet while we watch a movie. All my love. Michelle

  7. Stephenson Family,
Not only do you support, love, and encourage your mom/wife, you are able to give a gift to us by the way you write this blog. You always put the facts in the most positive of lights. You are eternal optimists, as Michael J. Fox has said. You don't seem to ask why, but instead, what's next(with every intention of giving it your all). Thank you for showing us a beautiful mother's day in your hospital room, because I know there will be love abounding there.
    Love and prayers,
    Leslie

  11. Dear Lis,

Happy Mother's Day! I can't help but think of the many wonderful, touching, and yes, hilariously funny times we had raising our two beautiful daughters and your great son Josh. You taught me how to be a patient, loving, relaxed mom by example. Even back then you were setting the standards. I'm a better mom because of you.

Thank you all so much for this sharing your mom with so many of us.

    Love you,
    Titi, Colin, and Colie

  16. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY LISA! I am happy to know that your O2 levels are coming back and that you continue to fight with every fiber of your being. May I suggest a white board to aide with communication? I gave one to my Dad when he was not able to talk and it helped. Thank You all for allowing us to join you on this journey.
    Love &n Prayers,
    Jean
