Happy Mothers Day!

Today was a great day to spend with our mom and celebrate the amazing, inspiring and courageous woman that she is. Her spirits remain high and though her attempts to communicate are endlessly frustrating for her (because we’re so slow at lip reading!) she continues to try and always maintains her sense of humor.

Both her cardiologist and her pulmonologist said they saw small improvements in her blood counts today and that her stats are looking stronger. Once again we’ve been so blessed with great Dr’s and attentive nurses and it looks like mom is fighting her way back to health.

Thank you again for all of your love and support and we hope you all had a chance to celebrate the wonderful women in your lives on mothers day!

With Love,
Melissa & The Fam

  1. Melissa, you are such an amazing young woman, who has shown us all such strength and courage these past few months. Your mom and I have had talks about what it's like having strong daughters, and I know how proud she is of you and how you have had to handle difficult situations lately. We are all products of our mothers... And in your case your a joy and comfort to us all! I'm so glad today was a great day! And I know you'll have many more to come! Love, Lynda Dowlen

  2. Melissa and Josh,
I can't express how much I support what Lynda just wrote. I also have a daughter and a son who your mom and I have discussed. You are such wonderful role models and I know your Mom worships you, as she should. What an inspiration you are !! Be proud. I know your mom is very proud and grateful. You are also such a support to her and in large part the reason why she maintains the strength and perseverence for which we admire her.
    Happy Mother's Day to you.
    Sincerely,
    Donna

  3. Happy Mother's Day, Lisa! I'm so glad you all enjoyed the day. It was a wonderful time to get to enjoy my family without any other commitments that could interupt us. I know that your family treasures you and that must be the greatest gift a mother can receive. Keep up the fight, we're all on your side!
Lots of love and prayers, Leslie

  4. Hi Lisa. Happy Mother's Day to you! I am so glad you had a great day with your family. They constantly tell us how strong you are and how much you are fighting to get well. I must say I thought about you constantly throughout the day and wished you were home celebrating instead. You will have to make up for it next year with some great food and pampering galore! You are much loved and there are so many people praying for your quick recovery. Stay strong & keep fighting. You'll be home before you know it.
    Love, Your WCD Kathy :)
