Wednesday May 13, 2009

Not much change to report today. Lisa's respiration remains stable and and blood work is stable as well. White blood Cell counts remain elevated, but well below where they were initially. They continue to fight the infection aggressively while working on her breathing. They are using three different antibiotics, making sure her electrolyte balance is properly maintained and also making sure she is getting necessary nutrition through her tube feeding.

Thank you for your continued thoughts, prayers and encouragement for Lisa and the family.

Jim, Josh and Melissa.

  1. Dear Lisa,
Sounds like you had a good day. Keeping those numbers down and getting on top of the infection will bring everything else back to where it was. There have been so many steps forward, and we are all thankful for those. We are here to help you as much as we can get past the bumps in the road. Looking forward to more improvements tomorrow.
    Love you. Jackie

  3. Hi Lisa,
As long as you remain stable and the antibiotics are working, that is good. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and pray that you are getting stronger hour by hour. I know there is good news ahead for you and your family.

  4. I definitely agree that you have all earned the master suite at the hospital! I glad to know that her counts are stable and hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and get the counts back where they need to be. I wish you all continued strength and am sending positive thoughts your way.
    Love & Prayers,
    Jean

  5. Dear Lisa and Family,
I'm glad to hear that the antibiotics are kicking in and that you are resting up in the best room in the house! You all remain in my every thought and constant prayers and I can see them being answered daily! Last night was a CPK fundraiser for Carver and I could just picture Lisa there eating and visiting with the students! EVERYONE misses you so much and I can't wait to see you recovered so we can see you again! Testing is virtually over except for some makeups. I know the whole school is hoping for excellent scores to make you proud! Keep up the good work and rest up for the next step in your journey! All my love and I can't wait to see you!
    Love,
    Nurse Judy
