Friday March 27, 2009

Another quiet day today. Speech Therapy today but no Physical Therapy. Lisa continues to have difficulty swallowing so the next step will be to remove the feeding tube from her nose and surgically insert one directly into her stomach so that the throat is clear and they can work more directly on strengthening the muscles. She continues to do her exercises to compliment the Physical Therapy so that she can get out of bed sooner.

Thank you for all the love and prayers. Lisa continues to move forward each day with all the support from Team Lisa.

  1. Hi Lisa,

HAPPY FRIDAY! Keep hanging in there, I pray every night for your full recovery. I miss talking with you and your beautiful smile, can't wait to see you once you feel better and are at home. Robyn

  2. Dear Lisa,
We send you our love and prayers every day. We have so much to share with you and will be right there with you as soon as you come home and are ready for visitors.

  3. Another good day, thank you! Every step forward is a step in the right direction, duh? Ok, but sometimes we forget how important the the little things are. Every positive progress is precious. "Pep talk 101" :) Lots of love, Leslie

  4. Lisa,
I knew you'd find a way to get that rubber hose outta your nose!!!! I think you will be much freer to swallow correctly and more comfortable with the g-tube! Each little step, like Leslie said, is a blessing and an important part of getting you back home! You remain a wonderful inspiration to us all! I continue to pray for you constantly, and give thanks for all your accomplishments! You are totally awesome and have worked very hard to overcome hurdles that many people would have just given in to. Keep up that fighting spirit! I miss you and can't wait to hear you are headed home!

  5. Hi Lisa,
I know your therapy isn't what you would choose to be doing right now, but it sounds as though your doctors are very knowledgable. Keep persevering. I'm thinking of you and looking forward to being able to visit with you in person one day soon. Paige Easley and her friends were in yesterday asking about you. I told them I would let you know that they send a special hello. Take good care. I look forward to hearing about your progress every day!
    Love from Donna
