Tuesday April 14, 2009

Another busy day for Lisa. She had Physical Therapy twice, Occupational Therapy once and she also had her swallow evaluation. PT consisted of exercise, standing, turning and sitting in a chair. OT was pretty much the same. The swallow eval went well, showing significant improvement from the last one and they will start her on soft foods tomorrow!

We hope everyone is enjoying Spring break and appreciate very much the continued prayers and support.

Jim, Josh and Melissa.

  2. Hi Lisa,
I just knew the tests would go well today. Once you get some real food into you I know your body will get stronger day by day. This is such good news for all of us. I feel really lazy this spring break compared to what you are doing every day. I had better get busy on my "to do" list before the week goes by. You keep working hard and I'll keep praying hard and you will be home before long.
Lots of love and a big hug,
    Sandy Saldano

  3. WoooHooooo Lisa!!!!! I knew you would swallow better without the rubber hose going down your nose! Now you can have your cottage cheese!!!! I am so proud of you! I am trying to keep up with you to no avail! You are an awesome example to everyone. I'm also glad you are getting around the joint a little, as that helps alot with your mental well being, seeing that your brain has been stuck in survival mode for so long! I can't wait until we can sit and laugh and chat. I miss YOU! I continue to pray and give thanks for your progress! GO LISA! Thanks to Jim, Melissa, and Josh for keeping us updated!
    Love,
    Nurse Judy

  4. Yeh, I bet you're looking forward to those soft foods. Chocolate pudding anyone? Hang in there; sounds like you're making huge improvements every day! Will be out of town with Joe & the kids for the next few days but will continue to check on your progress.

  5. Wow! Amazing progress! I would expect to hear nothing else. Soft diet sounds great - that can mean so many decadent things from which to choose. Hopefully you will get to go outside today - it is another beautiful day.
Love to all of you. Louie and Jackie
