Friday April 10, 2009

Today was another good day. Lisa did all her therapies today, PT times 2, OT once and speech once. She even stood an extra time this afternoon! (I think it is all the positive energy flowing from Team Lisa!) Swallowing continues to go well and she is looking forward to the next evaluation and hoping it will lead to tasty treats. It is truly a Good Friday and Lisa wishes everyone a happy Easter/Passover.

Thank you for all the positive energy, wonderful words and sincere prayers.

Jim, Josh and Melissa

  1. Fantastic news! I hope you and your family enjoy the holiday, it will be extra special now that you are feeling better. I'm going on vacation for Spring Break, but if I can get on line while I'm gone this blog will be the first thing I check! Keep up the good work.
    Happy Easter.

  4. Hi Lisa,
I hope they give you something really tasty for your Easter meals. Even if they give you jello, I am sure it will not be as good as the one you always make. But I'm sure you will be glad to be able to swallow your food. I'm praying really hard for you to regain all of your strength back so that you can be yourself again before too long. Please remember that the angels are all around you, watching over everything. I love you my forever friend.

  5. Dear Lisa,
It absolutely is a good Friday! Those small steps seem to be getting bigger and bigger. Hooray for you! And as usual, you are thinking of others wishing all of your "followers" a Happy Easter. With love and prayers. Jackie

  8. Dear Lisa and family,
What great news I continue to look forward to reading daily! Lisa, you amaze me with the progress you have made ...and now it seems to be "full steam ahead". I know you all are going to have a very special Easter. I am certainly thinking of you . I have a couple of cards that some students made that I will drop by your house. They ask about you daily and I feel so lucky to be able to report the good news. Stay strong. I miss you and can't wait for your return. Happy Easter to all of you.
    Love from Donna

  9. Happy Easter to the Stephensons!!!
It is wonderful to hear that you continue to improve, Lisa, and I agree that Sharon needs to send you some Jello shots!!! I am so happy that you have been able to tour outside the four walls of your room. When people are stuck inside a hospital for so long it sort of messes with their minds, so getting around and about for even short rides is another excellent "therapy" that your family can assist you with. Just remember that you ARE winning this battle and that you may be a little weak, but little by little you are regaining your life and your livelyhood. I am so proud of you, and I hope you know that you are an inspiration to EVERYONE! Be patient with yourself and keep up the fight! How appropriate that we are celebrating the Resurrection this weekend!
    Love and hugs,
    Nurse Judy

  10. HI Lisa! Happy Easter to you and your family. I am so proud of you and working out 2 times a day!!!(it's all I can do to get to the gym 2 times a week!) You are my inspiration.
Tomorrow I will be thinking of you in church and praying that God continues to strengthen you each and every day. Your family as well as I know this has been a difficult journey for them. Remember, our doors are anxiously waiting for you to walk back through them again.
    XOXO
