Lisa continues to work hard and improve. Physical Therapy twice a day with standing, Occupational Therapy once a day with weights and speech therapy once a day with swallowing exercises. Her swallowing has improved a lot, yesterday she was able to eat applesauce and jello and she had more jello today. The Speech Therapist thinks she is ready for another swallow evaluation so they will try to schedule it for next week. If that happens and all goes well, she will begin to get real food (as real as pureed food can be) as part of her nutrition.
We all appreciate the continued prayers and support and Lisa looks forward to hearing your comments each day at "mail call".
Thank you,
Jim, Josh and Melissa

ReplyDeleteHi Lisa
ReplyDeleteWe survived the "tenting" and are back at home.
Jen kept me informed, but it was good to read the news for myself. The weather has been beautiful and should make for a nice homecoming - which sounds like it could be soon. I am available for whatever you need.
We love you,
Louie and Jackie
Hi Lis, Jim, Josh, and melissa,
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I was having trouble with this blog again. Trust me, it is not them....it's me!!! this is wonderful news and I can't wait to puree some good Puerto Rican food for you. I know that you are working very hard and I can actually picture that very determined look on your face. That is wonderful. We love you.

Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI know you are the shining star at all of your therapies. I'm sure your therapists have never seen someone work as hard as you to get back home. It is so good to read the progress each day and see how much stronger you are getting day by day. Lots of love and prayers,

lisa,
ReplyDeletei know PT can be quite draining at times, but i'm sure you're taking full advantage of it. i'm so envious of those PT's who get to work with you..i wish it were me!!! i imagine you are such a great patient with your amazing perseverance and motivation....every PT's dream. keep pushing along. every little step...whether it be you requiring less assistance to stand/roll over/sit...matters.
hugs,
susan

ReplyDeleteAwesome news of the latest progress! Maybe you can slip a little Easter ham into the jello on Sunday! Kidding aside, I'm so proud and honored to be your friend, Lisa, and am so looking forward to seeing you again. Keep up the great work!
May the blessings of Easter be with all of you this weekend.
