Tuesday April 28, 2009

A bit of a setback today. Last night Lisa's color was a little off so they ran some tests. Unfortunately, the results showed elevated enzyme levels for the liver, indicating a possible blockage or other problem. They performed additional tests today including an MRI and we are awaiting the results. Lisa still managed to get in a couple of good walks today with PT. No speech today as she had to go without food or water for 8 hrs. before the MRI.

Your prayers are much appreciated as well as your encouragement and positive thoughts.

Jim, Josh and Melissa

  1. Dear Lisa and family,
Of course no one likes to hear about anything that will cause concern. It sounds as though your doctors are on top of things though and will prescribe what it takes to head off a complication. I am thinking of all of you. I'm happy to hear that you were up and around today, Lisa. It can only help to keep you strong. ( Although I don't think I need to advise you on doing whatever it takes since you are the Master). We are ALL learning from you! I am inspired by you every time I read this blog.
    With love and positive thoughts,

    Donna

  3. Hi Lisa,
I'm sorry to hear about the setback. I know you have wonderful doctors and they will find a way to fix this. I'm glad you got some real food to eat. That must have tasted wonderful. I hope tomorrow will bring better news for all of us.
    Love,

  4. Hey Lis, with all this good news lately I guess there's bound to be some "downs" along with the "ups." Hand in there. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's nothing and that you can get back on the road to healing!

    Love ya,
    Kath :)

  6. Dear Lisa,
Sorry not to check in for a couple of days - we were in Las Vegas with a group of Lincoln teachers. We had a great time. Checking the blog, it looks like you have really had some ups and downs - congrats on getting the CPK soup - good job, Melissa! Now to the business of putting lots of prayers toward the test results and your continued improvement. Sounds like you and Jim are getting the transferring down as well. Hope you got some walking in today. Will check in tonight later to see how today went. Love you, Jackie

I know that you are pushing yourself very hard. Between the workouts and introduction of food there is a lot going on. We love you and you are all constantly in our thoughts.
