Wednesday April 8, 2009

No slack here for Lisa! She had PT twice again today and both times going to the rehab center and standing with the parallel bars. After the morning PT she followed up with an extended sit in the wheelchair and then with OT and Speech Therapy. In the afternoon, after PT, we got to take her on a wheelchair tour of the ground floor of the hospital. It was her first foray outside the unit and she enjoyed seeing her surroundings.

Thank you for your prayers, support and encouragement.

Jim, Josh and Melissa

  2. God has a way of opening our eyes, to the things we see every day, and helping us remember to appreciate everything. Your journey has helped so many of us see and appreciate our abilities, our surroundings and our friends and family. Thanks for taking one for the team :)!!! You are doing such a great job! You always set the bar high and encourage us to reach it. People are exercising because of you, people are thankful for health because of you, and people are believing in determination, faith and hope because of you. Thank you, Lisa. And, many thanks to your family. Love, Leslie

  4. Dearest Lisa and Family,
OutSTANDing news of your progress! (Couldn't resist the pun.) In keeping with your hard work and determination, Lisa, you can be so proud of our OI kiddies and their performances at the first Special Olympics/LBUSD track meet on Tuesday. They were zooming in their chairs, flying in their gait trainers, and "running" in all fashions down the track at Millikan. Their spirits and zest for life showed through in every race, just as yours does every day. Keep it up, Friend!
Love, prayers, and positive thoughts from

Thank you again Jim, Josh, and Melissa for taking the time each day to keep us all current on Lisa's progress. All of us, in turn, report back to our own circle of friends on Lisa's progress. She has so many on her "team" praying for her each day. Thinking of you each day, Lisa, xoxoxo Robyn
